Sports Coach Links – The evolution of a revolution
In recent times, the world has not been hit by a rage bigger than social networking. It’s as big as the mobile revolution and has escaped no one. From youngsters to senior citizens and all cross sections of society, it has tied people of the world in one string like no other. To an extent, from being a want, it has now evolved to being a need to most of the people using it. And with more and more people making social networking a part of their lives, it will only become bigger in the future.
It has successfully broken myths for the ones who consider networking as a shallow activity that kills time. Social networking is actually much more than getting back in touch with long lost friends. And it’s as much needed to the coaches as to any other professional fraternity. This core community needs to connect, share, debate, exchange expertise and discuss opportunities for a holistic development of sports worldwide. All the more, because the website is meant exclusively for coaches of all sports, so apart from letting them remain connected, it also binds them with a sense of community and exclusivity.
It was felt, that coaches were more than willing to help each other but the lack of a common platform stopped them from doing so. The founder Keith Binley, himself a sports coach felt this and decided to realise the dream of providing coaches worldwide this opportunity. Sports Coach Links is already benefitting sport around the world by promoting profiles, skills and services of coaches and letting them embrace the opportunity to develop their own coaching network worldwide, broaden their expertise and pass on their success. And the fact remains, any project started with a noble intention, backed by proven practices and laid on strong fundamentals is bound to create ripples. Sports Coach Links has its foundations in the traditionally supportive network of sport coaching, where coaches are proud to share their best practices and advice, wanting the best possible performance for all. No wonder, from it’s test launch in 2010, It already has more than 1000 members from 45 different sports worldwide.
Sports Coach Links has not only lived up to but has also surpassed the expectations of its members. Let’s see what the members have to say.
Jeremy Snape, International Cricketer, Coach and Psychologist, holds a Masters Degree in Sport Psychology said, ” Sports Coach Links would be a unique and vital tool in helping sports coaches worldwide to exchange expertise and share support.”
Pete Goodings, the East Midlands Manager of England Squash and Racketball, said, “The web network Sports Coach Links was what sports coaches had been waiting for years. It is a tremendous idea and will be hugely beneficial to sports coaches – we have never had anything like this before.”
Rugby league coach John Barry, from Warrington said, “Finding out new ways of doing things is useful at work too. Things I have learned from other coaches have helped me solve problems, overcome challenges and build teamwork at the office.”
With early fans and encouraging feedback from its members, Sports Coach Links dreams of scaling newer and greater heights in the future. With a database of existing dedicated members and new sign-ups every day it is already fulfilling a need in the area of social networking.
